We went out to the Big Apple diner this morning for breakfast. It was super packed but we didn't mind at all.. but what we did think was pretty rude though, was the fact that we'd already been on the waiting list to get seated for about 15 minutes when the hostess’s friends came in and instantly got head of the line privileges and were seated, while the rest of us 'regular' people had to keep waiting another 15 minutes before another table opened up for us. The couple waiting before us had the same amount of people as “the hostess’s friends” so we know that they didn't get head of the line because they had less people or anything like that! And it was pretty clear by what they were saying when they came in the door, that they didn’t have prior reservations either! We just thought that it wasn't right to treat their customers like that, and it was extremely rude and unfair to everyone. And unfortunately we’re definitely NOT coming back again :(

Great blog with local flavor. I LIKES it.

I also like the photo of the meal just before digging in. The lighbox effect for the photo is neat, I just learned that from Jason at Real Estate Tomato.

From your friend from the Submarine Capitol of the World or at least on the other coast:

Great looking blog! Ya gotta love diners. I bet someone could write a best selling book called "Diners across America". On second thought, there probably already is such a book.

P.S. I'll trade you a couple of lobsters for a couple of crabs!

Ah Ha! A vote for the Blog Frog! I like the frog too. I just don't want the same thing on every page so I am designing other headers. This is just a test.

Hey, Buckwheat! Thanks for cleaning up my mess! AGAIN! I keep forgetting to resize my photos before I download them here.

MF - if you ever DO come out, I'll take you out on the Canal, and we'll pull up a few and boil 'em up fresh!
The Diner is a great place to eat, but the only problem is when you're sitting across from what's his name, you kinda lose your appetite!
