Nominated for the Magnificent 7

Magnificent7 BadgeI had a curious and pleasant surprise this morning while on my morning wander through cyberspace. I happened upon an article on the Real Estate Undressed website that announces two SoundBiteBlog consumer articles have been nominated for inclusion in this year’s Magnificent 7 Contest.

Rich (Sparky) Jacobson’s article on the Dark Side of Real Estate and Mark (Buckwheat) Flanders’ article on Option ARM’s have both been submitted as nominees to the contest. I was more than a little surprised. I was first surprised that Real Estate Undressed even knew SoundBiteBlog exists, and then surprised that our articles are considered good enough to be in the company of real estate authors of the caliber I found in the contest. It is very flattering. I had no idea that our articles had been nominated. I have no clue who nominated them. I haven’t heard anything from Real Estate Undressed. So, I guess I’ll have to send off an email requesting some information.

One of the wonderful and marvelous realities of blogging is that you never never know who is reading you. This is good if you are good and bad if you are bad. You seem to be good.

I read over 4000 articles last month and truly thought your two articles deserved nomination. I pick articles I like. I look for easy and fun reads that have high value for consumers. These met the requirement and I actually think they have a chance to win the big Prize and the end of 2007, the 7 Manfificent 7 consumer articls. How I am going to narrow it down to seven, I cannot say other than it will be tough.

I think it wll be a head to head double elimination big dance style.

I enjoyed your response, thanks a lot. Larry Cragun

Ah ha! The mystery is solved. Welcome to SoundBiteBlog Larry. I had noticed your spider gravatar , but didn’t realize who it belonged to.

4000 articles? Lordy, I thought I read alot. Have your eyes fallen out yet?

Thank you for the nomination. I remember the buzz about last year’s Magnificent 7 contest. It ended before we were ‘live’. I remember thinking it was a contest for the type of content we had planned to write. Rich was as surprised and delighted as I was. We have read many of the writer’s aritcles before now. They are a talented crowd. I have to admit feeling like the guppy in the great big pond. :)

Maureen: Thank you.

I don’t know how he’s going to pick winners at all out of the crowd he already has. There are some great articles in the lineup. As always it’s nice to see you visiting us ;)

Wow. I had missed this. But I’m not surprised. Didn’t I already tell you that when asked what blogging was I brought them here? You two put out great reads as well as very useful consumer info. Congratulations on the nomination!

Maggie: Thanks, we’re pretty thrilled.:)
