Northwest Design Center – Business Bites on the Kitsap Peninsula
March 23rd, 2007 by Rich Jacobson
One of the challenges when relocating to a new area is finding all the best places to shop, especially for furniture.
Northwest Design Center, located along Hwy. 305 in Poulsbo, Washington, is the brainchild of local business entrepreneur, Constance Swanlund.
Along with Marketing Manager, Frank Portello, the center offers an extensive selection of the most exquisite furnishings for the discerning buyer, and a wide range of designer services. Their current facility has over 30,000 square feet of quality home furnishings, accessories, an interior design studio, and the Cafe’ Divano coffee shop.
The showroom features Traditional, Classic, and Asian style pieces. Specialty rooms display wall art, lamps, mirrors, Asian antiques, and garden furnishings. A “Walk-Through” gallery helps to give buyers ideas on how to arrange pieces that look great together in living room, dining room, bedroom, or office settings. Ideas never cease at the Northwest Design Center and Furniture Gallery.
Like their motto states, “Imagine the Possibilities…Where Ideas come to Life!”

Hi! I just picked up two “Bongo” end tables, that will be used at bedside tables, at the NDS in Poulsbo. Big clearance sale now!! Got a great price and the service in there is excellent. I was helped by “Skip” who is a real gentleman. Go over there soon because they have stuff priced to SELL right now. The price was so good I had to blog about it, click on my link and see them hatched up with a salvage-shot headboard. Bonnie Story
I actually stumbled upon the Bad Blanche Design store in Winslow last week and saw a great poster of the Northwest Design Center and how they had redesigned the family room of a contest winner. It was really done well. Many times when you see these makeovers you wonder how a real human could ever live in such an environment, but the pictures showed a comfortable, attractive room that I could easily see myself in. Fabulous design that you could actually live in – what a great concept!
