“Another Dream Realized!” – 1st Time Home Buyers on the Kitsap Peninsula WA

November 5th, 2007 by Rich Jacobson

We had lots of things to celebrate this past week here in Kitsap County. My son’s football team won their last game, tying for first place in their Junior High league. Our local high school, the Central Kitsap Cougars, won their first divisional playoff game against Puyallup by a thrilling score of 31-16. Hey, what can I say, it’s football season!

But by far the most exciting thing that happened this past week was that my clients, TR and Arwen, closed on their very first home purchase!

It’s been almost a year since I began communicating with Arwen. She found me through the Internet and we started a regular string of e-mails back and forth. TR (proudly serving in the US Navy) was expecting new orders, and one of the potential duty stations was Bangor Subase, just outside of Silverdale WA.Jumping for Joy!!!

Finally, the orders to Bangor were cut, and TR & Arwen arrived in Kitsap County! Shortly after arriving, TR made Chief Petty Officer. I can say, with complete confidence, that our Naval forces stand prepared and at the ready with people like TR at the helm!

The 3 of us jumped feet first into the home hunting fray, and had a blast! I truly enjoy working with 1st Time Buyers, especially ones like TR & Arwen. They had some excellent questions and trusted my counsel. We were fortunate to find a really great home in Port Orchard WA and negotiate a really great contract.

The entire process went along without difficulty, and we were able to close ahead of schedule.

Congratulations, TR & Arwen! You guys were AWESOME! Good Job!

This is what I truly love about my career in real state – “Helping people achieve their Next Adventure in Life!”

“Central Kitsap Junior High Football 2007″ – Bites of Kitsap County WA

November 1st, 2007 by Rich Jacobson

Well, yesterday was the last game of the 2007 season for the Central Kitsap Junior High Cubs JV Football Team here in Silverdale WA. The Cubs played the Cedar Heights Junior High Rain Devils from Port Orchard. Both teams were tied for first place in the league going into the game.

quarterback-luke.jpgIt was a classic nail-biting battle of two fairly evenly matched teams. The high scoring rumble saw the lead change hands numerous times throughout the game.

Late in the 4th quarter, with only :40 seconds to go, the Cubs were down by only 1 point. Two costly penalties brought their ball back to mid-field, leaving them with a very difficult 2nd-and-long situation. My son, Luke, dropped back and threw the ball deep into coverage. A player on the opposing team tipped the ball, but the Cub’s fullback, Nathan Reese, pulled it down, giving them a critical 1st down near Cedar Height’s 15 yard line. Two plays later, they punched it in! With the extra-point conversion, Central Kitsap Junior High won 35-28.

We’ve had an exceptionally great season under the coaching leadership of  Head Coach Mike Fultz and Assistant Frank Wilson. A special thanks to Mitch Henderson, Head Coach of the Varsity Team, as well. Thanks guys for all your hard work and giving up your own time for our kids!

The Cubs JV squad went 5 and 1 this year. My youngest son, Luke, had the good fortune of taking the snaps at the quaterback position. For those of you who frequent my posts, you already know how proud I am of Luke’s accomplishments on the gridiron this year. I’ve been keeping a running commentary on each game (complete with YouTube video feeds) both here and on the ActiveRain network.

It’s programs like this that give our students such meaningful opportunities to learn the value of hard work, team effort, and good sportsmanship. These are positive traits that they will carry with them throughout their lives!

Congratulations, Central Kitsap Junior High JV Squad! You guys are AWESOME!!!
