One of my favorite musicians is Kerry Livgren, the founding genius behind the 70’s rock band, Kansas. Just before leaving the band, Kerry released his first solo project, “Seeds of Change, using the talents of many of the band’s members. It didn’t receive much mainstream attention, but it’s always been one my favorites of his.

Lately, it seems as though I’ve been going through a lot of changes, personally and professionally. Change is a good thing. As a licensed real estate professional, you learn to embrace change, to revel in it. Otherwise, you’re left in the dust of antiquated technologies and outdated marketing practices.
For the past 5 years, I’ve had the very good fortune of being affiliated with Windermere Real Estate/West Sound, Inc., here in Silverdale WA. The Owner/Broker, Frank Wilson, is one of the finest people I’ve ever encountered in this business. He is one of those rare individuals who cares more about people than numbers, and encourages his agents to strive for balance in life. Frank provides his agents with an amazing environment for success and fulfillment. I will always be indebted to him. And I couldn’t have asked for a better support staff in Bobbi Alger and Teresa Moloney. You guys ROCK!
For the past 20 months or so, I’ve been participating in a very popular and fast-growing online network for Real Estate Professionals, ActiveRain. During my involvement, I was honored by the request to be a Moderator for the platform. In addition, I achieved and held the Top Ranking Member status in Washington State for quite a while.
Recently, an opportunity presented itself for me to join the staff of ActiveRain, and take on greater role within the Network. My official title is ‘Community Builder,’ and I’ll be working right alongside Bob Stewart, helping to free up some of his time so he can pursue other new projects on the horizon. Most of my time will be spent working out of my office here in Silverdale WA.
At the same time, I will be moving my active real estate license to another agency, Brio Realty, based out of Bellevue, Washington. Jonathan Washburn, one of the co-founders of ActiveRain, also owns Brio Realty. So it made natural sense for me to hang my hat with him, so to speak. As such, I will continue to empower and relentlessly represent my clients, but on a much more selective basis than in the past. I want to ensure that the Buyers and Sellers that I commit to work with receive the very best time and effort that I have to offer!
Change can be disconcerting and stressful at times, just like when you’re faced with selling your house, and moving to a new destination. But I am thrilled about this new direction in my life, and the opportunities that lie ahead!

And here I thought I was going to read an Obama post…
Congrats on everything Rich! AR and Brio are lucky to have you.
Congrats on your move. In August, Mo Anderson (CEO of Keller Williams and one of the nation’s premier motivational speakers) is coming to SeaTac to teach KW’s “Quantum Leap” class. The whole point of the class is how to achieve balance in your life (it’s not real estate related, it’s not a recruiting class, it’s not limited to KW agents).
Rich, I’d love to have you join my wife and I for this 2 day class, if you’d like. Sounds like it’s right in line with what you’re valuing.
You never responded to my last invite to meet for coffee, by the way!

Rich, I can’t wait to see what you’ll do. I know you’ll continue to be inspirational. All my best wishes to you and yours!
