All markets take their dive and the US property market is doing just that, now IS the time to buy, if you're in it for the short tern then you won't make your profit immediately. Property is not like stock market shares, property will always appreciate in value and unless you purchased a shack in the middle of the nevada desert then you will make money in the long run. I guess the point of “now is a great time to buy” is for the long term, where on earth have you seen property prices ever fall and never going back up again?

All markets take their dive and the US property market is doing just that, now IS the time to buy, if you’re in it for the short tern then you won’t make your profit immediately.

I think if you have a good down payment, it's a great time to buy property. Interest rates are super low and home owners are desparate to sell. From what we are looking at here in terms of Months of Inventory (around 12+ months in most local markets), the Spring of 2010 may actually be a pretty good time to buy.
