About SoundBiteBlog

January 13th, 2007

SoundBiteBlog is primarily maintained by Rich Jacobson and Mark Flanders with lots of interesting input from their friends. The blog is generally Real Estate related, but not entirely. If a subject relates to community, it’s gonna be here. The subjects vary depending on the moods we happen to be in. It’s kinda like real life, huh?

Sometimes you will find topics that are completely unrelated to Real Estate or Community. That’s the way we like it. Rich likes to trap crab and dig clams, so expect to see pictures and recipes. Mark is kind of an egghead. You never know what will catch his attention. But, if a thought pops into his head, it’s likely to fall out of his mouth.

This is our blog and you are welcome to join in any discussion that you like. We think life is a major adventure. It’s fun and it’s interesting. Sometimes we’re serious, sometimes we’re not. That’s half the fun…

SoundBite is kind of like the Land of the Misfit Dolls. We have a weird and wonderful cast of characters all playing a different part in our little corner of the internet. Some of us are friendly, some are cute and  some have permanent bad hair personalities. Sparky and I spend most of our time just keeping peace in the ranks. We do have a show to run!

Here’s a line-up of the crew.

Bloggie

Bloggie – The first and the most popular of our players. Bloggie is the official meeter and greeter for SoundBite. He also handles public relations.

Spike

Spike – Spike watches out for Sparky. None of us know why. She attached herself to him as soon as she arrived and the person that messes with Sparky has Spike to deal with first. Spike is responsible for organizing and proof-reading all of Rich’s articles.

Dude

Dude – We don’t know his name. He may not have one. He does have plenty of attitude and even more tattoos. Dude is responsible for organizing and editing all the Bite Me articles. He also handles any heat they may cause.

Cush

Cush – He’s a little prickly, but not a bad sort. Cush is in charge of opinion articles. He edits and organizes. He also deals with Bloggie’s fan mail.

Sal

Sal - Originally from New York. Sal has trouble staying focused. He prefers to play pranks. If you can believe him, there’s a mafia connection in his background somewhere. Sal is the editor for all humor articles. It’s really the only thing he’s suited for.

Arnie

Arnie – Handles all the heavy lifting and fills in as the bouncer when we are on the road. Arnie keeps biographical information on all cast members up-to-date. He’s very methodical and dependable. Arnie and Dude armwrestle regularly.

Bloggie at work - Click for fullsize imageSparky and Buckwheat try to convince each other that they are in charge of the crew. Mostly though, they just write the articles for the station, and try to clean up after the kids (so to speak). It’s a pretty typical group of dysfunctional characters. Some days are good and other days are….

Sparky, Okay, I want to know if you EVER sleep….Love the crew you have gathered. I think my favorite is Bloggie. Too cute! I\’m also a fan of Spike, although she looks totally harmless. You\’d better get a new watchdog if you are looking for protection:)
LOVE Dude..maybe it\’s his name. Not my type, but hey, I\’m flexible! I think Sal is my long lost Brother, really. Cush, don\’t want to tick him off! Where was Arnie last week when I dropped my earring in the toilet? Can I have his private number please?

    Mark and Rich,

You guys have outdone yourselves, I really have enjoyed some of the commentary I read tonite, especially Marks post about builder steering practices, and Riches’ about industry perceptions of VA financing. Both are topics that hit home.

    I’ll be back.

    Phil

Steve thanks for the comment. I honestly don’t know if I would have the kind of courage it must take to turn an experience like that into something positive like Ed has.

Ok, so I’m late to come over and check things out, 3 weeks late to be exact.

The story I read today about the guy who got involved in fraud was terrific. Thanks for the courage of your convictions.

Hey Maureen, how’d you find us? Like the frog? That’s the Blog Frog! He hangs with us over Thursday morning coffee.

  15. Great looking blog guys. Love the frog and the coffee cups. I look forward to reading good stuff here.

  16. Hey Mark & Rich!

Great idea but you’re going to have to put in a request to get more hours in a day. I’ve been waiting for my request to be filled on that one and have not had any luck to date. Keep up the good work though and you will be sure to build an even bigger community of friends. Hey, can we add music? In speaking with my Mom this morning as I always do, I was reminded that my Great Grandfather came to this country when the Mexican Revolution hit and his money earned by being a Music Composer/Musician as a Mariachi Player, was no longer any good. So watch for my next Blog on “Getting In Touch With Your Roots”!

P.S. _ Wish I lived by you guys so I could join in the Coffee Meetings!

    Best Regards,

    Lisa
