It is illegal to walk on the Wisconsin / Minnesota Border with a duck on your head. Maybe some hunter shot someones head off in the olden days as he thought it was a duck in flight. What do you think?

I’m more interested to find out why this law was passed in the first place?
The ducks had guns in their feathers? The ducks were distracting to the hungry border security?
A duck on the head is worth two in the bush?

Keith Maahs wrote @ July 14th, 2008 at 11:14 am

Yes, it is in MN but I am actively fighting legislation to abolish this law and to encourage people to not only consider using ducks for ear wamers but to also consider the misunderstood eelpout. Them babies can wrap themselves right around your head and keep your ears warm (a little slimy though) and you won’t need anything to hold them on with once they put the squeeze on you :)

Dumb Minnesota Laws

A person may not cross state lines with a duck atop his head. It is illegal to sleep naked. All men driving motorcycles must wear shirts. Citizens may not enter Wisconsin with a chicken on their head. All bathtubs must have feet.

Hibbing

It shall be the duty of any policeman or any other officer to enforce the provisions of this Section, and if any cat is found running at large, or which is found in any street, alley or public place, it shall be the duty of any policeman or other officer of the city to kill such cat.

Ginny Mitchell wrote @ July 14th, 2008 at 11:46 am

I know it sounds really silly, but the Minnesota law is to prevent the transfer of duck diseases between states — as though the creatures cannot fly!

Anyone know what state has a law to forbid tying an alligator to a fire hydrant?

Hey, you need a good laugh today and so do I — this is a true but crazy fact.
